We are planning to bring occulo to market.
Three years in development, road tested by the blind and sighted, we now have as-built working prototypes. The Product designers, Manufacturers & Creator have been liaising on the tooling required to make the moulds, how it will be assembled, packaged and distributed. We know our costs which we have kept down as best we can. We even took paid advice on whether we could avoid VAT liability – unfortunately not!!!
What is the plan?
To build a bigger occulo community which will support making the product a reality via the KICKSTARTER Crowd Funding Platform. Key dates are as follows:
16/06/23 KICKSTARTER set up.
18:00 hrs 03/06/24 Financial pledges process begins.
18:00 hrs 19/07/24 Pledge process ends.
May/June Tooling work ordered.
Sept 2024 Moulds tested for trial runs.
Oct 2024 Manufacturing & Distribution begins.
In time for Christmas, the UK and German toy fairs Jan/Feb 2025 and all dependent on funding success.
How much do we need to raise?
We are offering nearly a 25% discount during the KICKSTARTER crowd funding period where occulo will be sold in pairs. The Launch Edition will be a benefit for those engaging in the occulo community. There is no limit to how much can be raised, it is dependant on how many people like the project and are willing to contribute. Our minimum target is a total of £10,000 (ten thousand UK pounds). Why do I care?
This was an idea I have sat on for over thirty years! Pushed by youngest daughter, encouraged by family & friends I am trying to put all my what ifs into reality and make occulo happen.
Why should we care?
This is a world first. A type of puzzle extremely few people have experienced. Occulo will contribute a new experience to the Global puzzles market. We will be caring by sharing and when in production raising funds for sighted and related causes Globally, Nationally, Regionally & Locally.
